Mike,

If the AS/400 is to initiate the transfer, I've only used ftp. But if you
don't want to use FTP here is an idea that would be a kind of compromise.

1. Configure the IFS folder where the data resides as a share using
NetServer.
2. Configure this share as a network drive on the non-AS/400 servers.
3. When the process runs to create the file(s) on the AS/400 have it create
a file with a specific name, e.g. ImDone.txt. The non-AS/400 servers should
have full writes to this file (not just read). If you have multiple servers
you should have multiple files. E.g. ImDone01.txt, ImDone02.txt, etc.
4. Set up a scheduled process on the non-AS/400 servers. They check the
network drive for the existence of the ImDone.txt file. If it exists they
copy the files from the network drive to their local drives and then delete
the ImDone.txt file.
5. Set the schedule to run this process every xx minutes.

The goal with the above scenario is for the AS/400 to create the files and
then create a flag file whose sole purpose is to indicate that all files
have been created. The non-AS/400 servers look for their specific flag
file. When they see it they grab the files and then remove their flag file.
