Exactly the questions we were asking.  It was occuring in all applications
and appeared as if a system object had been damaged, but was not giving any
real indication as to which one except for the QJOBMSGQ message.

I was just informed that the ROBOT product, which sends messages to the
system console, among many other functions, was "down" and had to be
restarted.  When it was restarted, the problem disappeared

Thank you for your assistance.

Of course I now wonder why third party product being idle causes such a
mess, but I guess we can ask HelpSystems that question.

The first place I'd look is "What changed?"  Presuming that the application
worked Friday and is only now throwing errors, that is.  Is there any
indication of which object the system is trying to refer to?  Is the job log
itself filling up?  Does this occur in multiple applications?
