The 70 days grace period does not work a second time; the fact that the
system password has expired gets written to a part of the load-source disk
that doesn't get erased; so you can replace the load-source disk with a
'new' data disk, but then you run out of disks without the expired system
password on ...

I confess I had forgotten about the system password, not just MULIC tape; so
much for saving money and using an old, redundant system! I think I may
have acquired a replacement for the fire-extinguisher ... a model 200
door-stop :-)

If I'm not mistaken, the model 200 does not need a MULIC tape even though it
is
CISC. I think all you'll need are the V3R2 OS & LPP tapes -- plus possibly
a
new system password.

And of couse IBM (most likely) won't give a new system password except to
the
original licensee; V3R2 is not considered transferrable.

I suppose for a d/r training, doing a scratch install/reload and being given
a
new 70-day grace period may be sufficient for the purpose of each training
course.
