Subject: Re: NIMDA Virus - Anyone been affected by it ?

We did not, and none of our clients did - although we had a deluge of calls
yesterday to help make sure that their anti-virus softwares were updated to
protect.

However, I have a friend who does tech support at a large company here in
Tulsa. Tuesday they noticed disk usage going up on their servers. Upon
investigating they found ton of *.eml files being generated, and figured out
it was a virus. It had gotten so out of control that they told all 1,000
users to turn off their PC's. They worked through the night to repair their
servers. Then they shut down all ports on their switched that supported
desktops. As each PC was checked and verified to be clean they would
activate it's port on the switch. My friend worked 17+ hours yesterday
(he's desktop, not server support) and i still fighting fires today.

If you get this virus it is an incredibly nasty one!

Chuck
