        I don't think so !!  Frame Relay is a transport protocol and defines
the physical network. VPN is an encription protocol usally used on top of
TCP/IP !!

        You could move from Frame with a CIR, to a Clear span T1, a ADSL or
SDSL, or even dial up. An they would all possiably be able to support the
VPN connection !

        So yes, the iSeries/400 has a good L2TP VPN code base, and I have
seen it work well with the SoftPK/IRE Windows product. What usally causes
issues is the A.) How the client is connecting. B.) The FireWall between the
ISP and the 400.  Have yet to try MicroSofts L2TP with the 400, maybe
someone else will address it.
