Brian:
Check our web site under the download section. Art Tostaine has written
code to extract the message sent to the QTCP message queue when the PPP
connection is established. You can also extract the IP address. Thanks
again Art.

Subject: Status of PPP connection

Does anyone know of a way to check for the status of a PPP connection after
the STRTCPPTP command is executed?

I have a CLP that runs unattended in batch mode. It dials up a remote sever
(WinNT) and initiates a TCP/IP PPP connection using the STRTCPPTP command.
After this PPP connection is established, I run an FTP script to log on to
the remote server and transfer a file. Usually, everything works fine but
occasionally the FTP script fails because the PPP connection has not been
fully established. Currently, I'm just using a DLYJOB command to allow time
for the PPP connection to be established before starting the FTP script.
What I'm looking for is a way to determint that the PPP connection has been
successfully established and is ready to be used. Any Ideas?

TIA,
