Well, I think you need to modify the definition of "legacy" system as defined 
by (I can't tell if it was David or Leif).

Rather than whether or not the system was purchased to develop something new 
on, the question is whether or not the system was purchased to support an 
existing application or to implement a new one. If a user is buying SAP but 
isn't a developer on their own, that doesn't mean it is a legacy system. 

But I also believe the desktop marketing is either reaching or has reached 
saturation point in that the majority of them are certainly legacy systems. 
The average desktop user is not adding something new when they buy a new 
system. Some new features still drive the market, additional audio/video 
capabilities, better connectivity, etc. People upgrade their software and 
find they need stronger hardware to support it. But I think we are at the 
point where that is the smaller part of the market. For a long time, 
everything was new.
