Many years ago I was bitching to IBM & manufacturers of various twinax
terminals, & I finally quit when the world began to move to PCs, that there
needed to be on the foot of twinax sessions an ICON that said HOW MANY
SESSIONS are currently open at this terminal. I felt that the device's
configuration connection to addresses on the port could track which were
signed on & active & which were not.

The reason I wanted this was the users at the low end of the scale of
attentiveness to the details of what they were doing. They would have
multiple sessions open & forget what they had open, get to then end of their
work day & sign off the session in front of them & power off the terminal &
KABOOM the software update jobs open on the other sessions, or they did not
power off & left the other jobs open & here we want to do backup after they
gone home.

So what I wanted was a NUMBER on bottom of screen meaning you have
05 sessions currently active ... please wind that number down to 00 before
you go home or power off this sucker.
