I would strongly recommend using AFP to do this, but if you insist on
sending your own control codes, Phil Hall has published how he did it on his
web site: <http://www.execpc.com/~pbhall/index.html>  The archives have
several instances of this question (I will add it to the FAQ).  Search for
HP5 or ESC.
