I sure chuckled at this. You are so right, abou the "still in beta" part.

Well, I sure agree with the list of things tha JP doesn't care about. Or,
actually, I figure JP cares about all of it, but not so much that he would
do anything about it. Consumers tend to buy for a variety of reasons, and if
you can make two choices attractive but make the consumer feel one choice
has better featuers, you can attract the buyer.

But he does care if it crashes in the middle of his on line games or web
browsing.

Well, I do think that the majority of people don't care, but I feel the
reason most people don't care is they really can't figure out what the
problem with monopolies is. I've seen over and over people saying, "But
_all_ companies do that..." I do believe that if people understood what was
happening they'd see the problem, but I don't believe you can get people's
attention long enough to show them.

But John, it isn't the Joe Public who makes those choices. It is the MIS
professional. That's the guy Joe Public will blame if his credit card does
get stolen or if a virus attacks his computer.
