9348's are OK.  Not that you would still want to have one to do backups,
but reel to reel tape is still an industry standard, unfortunately.

What about 9348's ... I still have one of these attached to one of our
systems...

I hate to ask about this piece of you-know-what tape drive, but I thought I
heard that it's not supported under V5R1.  But when i look at the CRTDEVTAP
command on a V5R1 system, it stilll lists 9347 under device types.   Anyone
know for sure.....
