You should be here when it gets _really_ cold! :-) That is when the Polar
Bear Club breaks out the swimsuits!

I was in Rochester for a Availability and Recovery school in December 1991
and I almost froze to death going from one store to another store that were
next door to each other. I am going to keep this SAFWB in a area of the US
that I do not have to worry about having anything fall off do to cold. One
thing I thought interesting was a big lake that hundreds of Geese were on.
The tempature was around 100 degress below zero, well I guess it felt that
way and those geese were having the best time in the lake. Really beautiful
area but just way to cold.

They lie! Not usually until end of Oct into Nov, but then again, we have a
history of blizzards on or before Halloween!

Is it true that, in Minnesota, they put the snow plows on the trucks at the
end of September? Someone in Rochester told me this once.

Just to set the record straight, October is generally one of the pleasantest
months for visiting Minnesota. Besides the fact that temperatures
will
still be moderate, the trees will be clothed in glorious fall colors.
Often there is a good long week of Indian Summer some time during the
month. Check out average temperatures during October on the weather
      channel at:

http://www.weather.com/weather/climatology/USMN0503.htm?dayofyear=287

If you wait until November to come, you should expect things to be a little
more frigid; generally, the snow starts in November and stays with us until
March or April.

Janet Krueger, hoping to see you all at COMMON in Minneapolis in October!
