you  mean  a reverse interface post  first load of OS400 back to DST areas for use.

I'm not sure how the dependency would be forced. I can see OS/400 currently relies on an OS/400 structure to access and manage the values, true. But I can't see how that demands a barrier that cannot be crossed. It is certainly possible for OS/400 to package relevant values in such a form that they're understandable to DST and place them where DST can find them. An interface _can_ be defined and implemented.

Okay, maybe it would take a significant effort by IBM; but the message from IBM has long been that the AS/400 (and iSeries I hope) development has been customer driven. What I've seen of this thread is that customers want more control over this aspect of DST. If that's not a valid interpretation of the thread, then what is the point of the thread? Simply complaining?
