For your V4R5 upgrade, (which should be V5R1):
>memo to users
You can start here:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm
or end here:

>Hiper ptf's
Think Group PTF's! I used to pour through SF984vrm for the hiper ptf's but
no longer!
Start here:
http://as400service.rochester.ibm.com/s_dir/sline003.NSF/GroupPTFs?OpenView&view=GroupPTFs

>iPTF facility
1) There are two concepts to this. One, allows you to download ptf's
interactively, via a PC, to your 400. Much like SNDPTFORD with DELIVERY
(*LINKONLY). The other allows you to 'fire and forget'. Place an order
for your CD's. IBM sends you 3 emails on the status of each order: a) we
got it, b) we packaged it, c) Airborne has picked it up and you can track
it with this tracking number. Much like SNDPTFORD with DELIVERY(*ANY), but
with much better customer service. I use both. They both have their
purpose. You might have to be a registered support line customer first.
To use the interactive one you also need something called 'socks' on your
PC. Something I let the technicians install. (It's called teamwork for a
reason.) Once you get registered try:
For interactive:
http://as400service.rochester.ibm.com/p_dir/ptforder.nsf
For Cd's:
http://service.software.ibm.com/as400.us.reg/orderptfmedia?lang=english|1
To register:
start here:
http://as400service.ibm.com/
go here:

(Great help on testing for 'socks', etc)
then end up here:

I have just spent a very unfruitful hour searching for an IBM website to
download the memo to users, Hiper PTFs, install instructions etc for the
v4r5 upgrade - I tried the iPTF facility it just crashes so I don't know
whether it's there or not.
Searches for SF98450 etc has been a waste of time - any ideas ?

Kind Regards,
