Agree .... Netserver only disables access to Netserver... When you do a
DSPUSRPRF it still shows *ENABLED

Buck,

This may or not help.

When NetServer disables a user profile, the profile does not show STATUS
(*DISABLED). It only disables a special part of the profile that controls
NetServer access. Perhaps something else is happening that is causing the
profile to be disabled? Maybe this also explains why you do not see the
QSYSOPR message that the rest of us see?

"They" is me. Let me reiterate from my original post. All is well on my
Win95/CAE box. I have two user IDs - my old one from 96 and the new one
for
Netserver that I need to match the network logon. Netserver works great.
Blue screen of Death. Reboot. Prompted for password to re-establish the
file shares - immediately get "invalid password." Cancel from all my
shares, sign on to AS/400. DSPUSRPRF and it is STATUS(*DISABLED), Number
of
invalid sign-on attempts=0. Re-enable, reboot. Prompted for my password
to
re-establish the file shares and all is well again.

This is not a case of the 400 password expiring. There are no messages
anywhere - the profile simply goes to *DISABLED after a BSOD.
