Remember that my employer is in the electric wires business.
You need to have cables that meet certain electrical standards.
There is a standard in which a wire is bare at both ends touching pieces of 
paper at both ends & a torch is applied to the middle of the wire.  The wire 
passes the test if neither piece of paper gets browned.
You need to research these standards & make sure that your cables meet the 
criteria of the specific application.
