Sadly, Series/1 is no longer marketed.

Mini computer of the 70's and 80's from IBM. Had three different operating
systems, among the most famous was EDX, Event Driven Executive and was used
by supermarket chains for power management, among other things. You could
set an event like "lights on" at 8:00AM and every day at 8:00 AM that event
would occur. Program execution could then be tied to the firing of the
event.

And object oriented programmers think it's new...   ;-)


Covering Series/1 (even in breif)is a whole nuther thing. Would take
hundreds of threads. <vbg>

It does not really apply to this list.
