Jeff,

What form of command line processor are you using? If you've proto'd the
QCMDEXC, then you probably need to use the override scope parm on the
OVRPRTF command. An OVRSCOPE of *ACTGRPDFN should get you there. An
alternative to this could be to use the "system" command from the C/C++
runtime. This form of the command line executes at the same call level as
the RPG IV program and is immune from the *CALLLVL problem you've
experienced.

Subject: OVRPRTF within RPGILE

I'm trying to do something I've never done before. It seems simple
enough to me, but I can't get it to work.

It's within an RPG ILE program. Printer file PO15PO is defined like
this:

FPO15PO O F 145 Printer OflInd(*INOA)
F INFDS(PrtFDS)
F UsrOpn

Before I open the file, I issue an OVRPRTF command via a service
program, like this:

D @OvrPrtF C 'OVRPRTF PO15PO OUTQ(FAXSPLF)'
D SysCmd S 2048

C Eval SysCmd = @OvrPrtF
C CallP ExecCmd(SysCmd)

The service program containing procedure ExecCmd is compiled
ACTGRP(*CALLER). I've issued a bazillion OVRPRTF within CL programs
over the years, to a specific OUTQ, and it works. Is there something
screwy about USROPN that prevents this?

Thanks.
