Have you seen the latest NewsWire/400 quoting Buell Duncan on this subject?
(I imagine those who were at COMMON knew this already.) I read into it some
conflicting messages about IBM's attitude to iSeries Nation - end result is
something along the lines of 'we know that iSeries has a band of very
faithful followers, so here's a sop to them and some assistance to them in
doing the marketing for us that we should be doing ourselves, but iSeries
is not the brand, IBM eServer is'. (i.e. business as usual.) Wonderful
doublethink.

well, let's see.
I have a patch for our company name and our slogan "AS/400 Specialist", and
an IBM Business Partner logo patch.
I have seen MCSE have patches for "Certified" or "MCSE Certified".

i Series Nation (simple)
or
member iSeries Nation (too long?)
or
i Series Nation
eXtreme Servers
or
iSeries Nation
business servers
or
(with a little imagination, a big round patch, black, big red "i" (use
chiller font) and iSeries Nation underneath)
probably a little too extreme for ibm ( see www.ctlaltdel.net for some more
extreme designs)

Like the pins, etc at Common - they don't have too many words, like
"iNation
Rules, all others s*"

When I travel, people will ask, like "do i work for IBM?" and then i get to
explain this wonderful machine.
btw-If ibm really wants to reach business people & techies - do it in
airports.
