Did you perform a *RESET or *CLEAR when you restarted the MSF? I would end
SMTP & POP servers. Then end MSF. Manually clear out you incomming mail.
Then start MSF with the *CLEAR option. Then restart the rest. This all
works better on 4.4. You should think about upgrading to a supported
release.

Subject: SMTP inbound mail problem

Our SMTP server crashed and after restarting the server we have a
problem with incoming email staying in the SMTPBOX and not being
distributed to the users mailboxes in MAIL.

Outgoing email seems to be working fine, and incoming mail reaches the
SMTPBOX directory, but we must manually move it to the users mailboxes.

We have restarted SMTP, TCP/IP, and MSF many times with no correction of
the problem. An IPL did not help either.

Is anyone familiar with this problem? Any suggestions?

We are running the SMTP server on V3R7.
