We've been using the OS/400 mail servers since V3R2.  Things have improved
greatly.  Not one problem since V4R5.  Zero cost.

Purchase Stalker's Communigate (www.stalker.com).  The mail servers on the
400 aren't up to par to run in a production environment, in my opinion.
