One ideal way is to call an SQLRPGLE program to run the SQL and return the
variable wanted. I had a developer here who did that. Initially they
wanted to do it without using an extra program in their CL. My argument
was that any option would be using another program. Any CL command
executes a program and therefore you are using another program. The only
difference is whether you, or someone else, writes the program.

Hi All,

I'm new to imbedded SQL. Can SQL statements be executed from within a CL
program and if so, what resource should I be looking for to guide me in how
to do it. Thanks.
