I've never needed to do this (lucky me, I guess), but according to the SQL 
reference, the procedure must declare itself as GENERAL WITH NULLS, and 
apparently pass an additional parameter to hold the null byte map. It 
further elucidates "see the book DB2 UDB for AS/400 SQL Programming, 
SC41-5611-02."

I hope that puts you on the trail of something useful.
