Well, the idea of placing a RTVJOBA command into a library listed ahead of
QSYS is a wonderful answer.  That said, some programs (not good ones, but
some) will execute QSYS/RTVJOBA instead of the unqualified name.  In this
case, you are left only with replacing the RTVJOBA command in library QSYS
itself.  Come on, Al, this is not the end of the world.  I'll agree that
it's not nice, and there are probably dozens of ways to solve it.  I might
have opted for a different command parameter instead of your (admittadly
unseen) proposed pseudo-code... return first 25 into USRLIBL and all 250
into an extended-library-list parameter.  Why add complication to
complication?

Anyway, a well-written RTVJOBA command/cpp could be written and placed into
QSYS (or a library ahead of same), doing whatever the heck you want to do.
You don't like IBM's code?  OK, write your own.  I've been doing that for
decades, since the System/3.
