Michael,

That is what all those 2938s mean on all the OS/400 CDs! I think you would
have to reinstall everything to go from DBCS primary language back to SBCS
primary language. You should be OK, though. You can get your menus and stuff
back to mixed case by changing the subsystem description for your
interactive subsystem (default QINTER). There are a couple of parms in there
for setting your signon display file and a library list entry to point to
the mixed case English. I have a V3R2 machine with a similar scenario. The
following display is from DSPSBSD QINTER:

                         Display Operational Attributes

 Subsystem description: QINTER Status: ACTIVE

 Subsystem description . . . . . . . . : QINTER
   Library . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : QSYS
 Maximum jobs in subsystem . . . . . . : *NOMAX
 Sign-on display file . . . . . . . . . : QDSIGNON
   Library . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : QSYS2924
 System library list entry . . . . . . : QSYS2924

You will then see the library QSYS2924 in the system portion of your library
list. Note that jobs that do not run in that subsystem will not get those
entries, so for example, if your console is running in QCTL, it will still
show the upper case menus from 2938.

Subject: Language changed during an upgrade

Anyone,

We just installed V4R5 on our development 170. I don't know what the
primary language was but I am guessing 2924. Well, after the upgrade we now
have 2938 installed as the primary and 2924 as the secondary. We are unsure
how IBM or why IBM shipped us DB enabled english, but we now have it on our
machine. The problem is, all of the menus are uppercase not lower.. I
changed the QLANGID system value from ENP to ENU. I don't know if that will
do anything, I haven't IPLd.

Any ideas? Is there anyway to go back to plain ole 2924??? Without
restoring our backup that is.
