Check the archives & the trade publication forums.
This topic comes up ALL THE TIME.

If you have Client Access, and if your users have spool file control, they 
can cut paste off of any 400 report to any PC application as easily as they 
do that for regular windows & internet sites.  But you might have security 
concerns about people cutting pasting PC based stuff into your 400 data 
bases.  Also, they have to have some know-how with respect to the vagaries of 
the PC application assumptions, otherwise dates won't be read properly & some 
PC applications have a problem with the edit word punctuation of a 400 report.

Enter the utilities that help the end user get the job done without having to 
know anything about the application or the software.  Some of them are 
inexpensive shareware & some are polished by vendors doing lots of marketing, 
but most are somewhere in between.
