I remember having my Boss, the VP of IS call me in the middle of the night
because power was out. He wanted to plug everything into the now running
generator. I told him to unplug the UPS from the wall and plug it into the
generator. Next thing I heard would be filtered by most e-mail systems. He
unplugged the AS400 from the UPS. After realizing his mistake, he quickly
plugged the AS400 directly into the generator. The IPL took several hours.
Just about the time we started to get our 24x7 authorization system back up,
the power came back on, but the generator ran out of gas. Second crash!
The next call had me driving into work laughing all the way!

The moral is "DON'T FEEL BAD!" it happens to us all eventually.

About 10:45am today I was tinkering with some cables behind our 270. I
stepped on the power cord and pulled it out just enough . . .

Jeez, I hate it when that happens.
