Why don't you try using the HOSTS file in the Windows folder.

Subject: Windows 2000 DNS and iSeries

We have a Windows 2000 DNS server implemented and we are experiencing
sporadic issues with not being able to resolve IPs for our 400s. This is
apparently only happening on workstations running Windows 2000 Pro. We
have changed our DNS settings on the workstation trying to find the proper
setting, but this doesn't work too well. For instance, my workstation will
resolve the addresses in the morning and later in the day I cannot resolve
the addresses. I have to go into my network settings and either check or
uncheck a certain box. This will allow me to resolve the address, but at
my next reboot I will have to change the setting back.

Any others have problems with this? Our 400s are the only internal network
addresses that we seem to have problems with. However, they are basically
the only components we need to resolve. Any suggestions?
