Title: Not authorised to workstation
Charlotte

Check the *DEVD and make sure *PUBLIC has *CHANGE authority to it.

If the device was automatically created (System value QAUTOCFG = 1) and system value QCRTAUT = *USE and library QSYS is defined with Create authority . . :   *SYSVAL or *USE, then a situation like you are describing could occur. In this instance the user would be able to create a device, but the device would be created with *USE authority and *CHANGE authority is required to actually sign on and use a virtual device....

Probably the workstation ID for the device was generated by another user. Check the workstation ID on the 5250 emulation session. You may want to change that to blank or to an id not used by another client access session.

Dear List

I have a new user set up to access the As400 and JDE (A7.3.10). She is connection via a PC using Client Access Express. However when she logs in she gets the following: CFP2241 User Profile xxxxxx not authorised to *DEVD QSYS/PCAW

Anyone have any ideas which parm it will be in the user profile, or indeed will it be the Group profile authority?

It just seems strange as she can log in to other PC's fine - so it makes me think that it's the Express installation rather than her profile - any gurus out there who can give me some hints??

TIA
Charlotte
