Marian,

Okay, all there is to it is that your display files have to support *DS4
format, as well as (or possibly instead of) the default *DS3 format.  It's
been years since I've done one and I don't have any examples on my system
here, so my memory is probably imprecise.  The DDS Reference manual has all
the rules in it, and might even have a semi-understandable example.  I think
you specify at the record level that you're allowing it, then condition your
display file field positions with the *DS4 or *DS3, as applicable.  I'm sure
someone here can chime in with more info and an example or two.
