  • Subject: OS/400 V4R5 - SSL Issue

Folks,

We recently upgraded our production 740 to V4R5. We've noticed a problem
with SSL on some of our websites. This has stumped IBM, stumped Microsoft,
and I'm presenting it to the masters. Note: we did NOT change anything
else during this upgrade.

We are serving a page with a top frame, left-side frame, and main center
frame. It is all HTTPS. When we click a link on the left frame to pull a
new page from the server (.jsp with ssl) in the main frame, it will work the
first time. However, if a person clicks it two or three times, we get the
"Page not displayed" error - 403. Seems simple enough there, but if you
turn off SSL 3.0 in IE, the page NEVER bombs out. So - the question is, did
IBM make any changes in the HTTP server with V4R5 which causes issues with
IE and SSL? There *IS* a known problem from MS with IE and SSL, but we've
applied that fix and it is still busted. The only variable we can come up
with is turning off SSL 3.0 in IE, and it works. This app is not
Netscape-enabled, so we can't run a valid test there. Any ideas would be
great. Thanks in advance.
