But the Java toolkit provides the following classes: ProgramCall and
ProgramParameter.  You call a program defined by a ProgramCall object and
optionally pass it a list of bidirectional parameters defined by
ProgramParameter objects, just like any other language would.  In fact,
there is even a mechanism for retrieving any OS/400 error messages generated
by the call.

Your surmise is incorrect.
