John,

You don;t need to mess with that stuff.
To change the 7852-400 from Sync to Async mode (for example, when starting a PPP profile or Fax on the modem) use the SETMDMASC('END')
on the PPP or Async line description.  This will take care of switching it to Async mode, and back to Sync when the Fax/PPP/Async task ends.

The fine print:
Older 7852-400's may need a flash update
Releases V4R3 and older (maybe it was V4R4) require a PTF to make the 7852 behave properly when using SETMDMASC('END').

Hello Group:

I'm trying to setup an initialization string on my modem to go into Asysnc Mode and Set DSR on, then a termination string to set the Modem back to Sync Mode and Set DSR to act normally.

According to the manual the settings wopuld be:
    AT&M0&S0 - ASync DSR On
    AT&M1&S1 - Sync DSR Normal

It's not working what am I doingt wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.
