Thanks, I did not know about those commands before, but what about a utility to
easily "mess" with the data once it is in the physical file?

For comma delimited files have you looked at CPYFRMIMPF? Or to go
backwards try creating an externally defined PF and use
CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(*LIBL/&FILE) TOSTMF('/mydir/myfile.txt') RCDDLM(*CRLF)
STMFCODPAG(*PCASCII)
and then use DSPF to view the ifs file.
Once you've imported the file into your physical file then you can have
your way with it.

We have need of some type of "easy to use" data conversion utility on the
AS400. This product would be able to read in AS400 files (most likely files
transferred from a p/c, like ACCESS or even comma delimited files), and
manipulate the data to meet customer requirements. We use RPG and unless we
find some other tool we will probably need to create conversion programs to
do this.
If anyone has used such a product or knows of such a product, please
forward any information to me. Much appreciated!
