Simon,

Re: being forced to use the activation group on WRKJOB/DSPJOB.

This recently brought to light a problem here. They had the file opened in
the wrong activation group and it showed in this screen.

How many people would think it was great if the first thing that option 14
to compile a RPG/400 program did was convert it to RPG/IV over top of the
RPG/400 source and then compile it? Me, for one. And if you didn't want
this then you could order a PTF.

Yes.

That's only because it is a PTF. PTFs don't go through the normal NLS
translation (and in fact IBM are loath to PTF anything involving MRI). The
keyword text is in upper-case because that will display correctly on all
systems including DBCS systems. Lower-case characters are not always
available on some systems.

One would normally expect that the STMFCODPAG keyword will become part of
the OS in a later release (e.g.,5.1) due to PTFs generally being absorbed
into the base code -- hence the term TEMPORARY -- but since Rochester still
haven't worked out that most user's want option 14 of WRKJOB/DSPJOB to
display the I/O count and not the activation group id (fat lot of use that
really is) then perhaps not.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
