I was able to access that link, but then thought I'd try something
different, so here's my odyssey.

Online documentation link for V4R5, V4R4, V4R3, V4R2, V4R1, V3R2, Redbooks,
Domino for AS/400, and more.
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm

Clicked on V4R5, went to:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/v4r5eng.htm

Clicked on category bookshelves for V4R5, went to:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/ct45eng.htm

Selected Integrated Database and File Systems, went to:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/8eng45.htm

Under the section Queries and Reports, saw the Query/400 Use link, which
said it was in Information Center. This went to:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/v4r5/ic2924/info/rbaf9mst02_frm.htm

There was nothing in the document telling you what version of Query/400
this applied to, except maybe the link.

I find this document to be extremely limited. For example I searched for

 SELECT AND RECORDS AND
 QUERY/400

and none of the hits talked about the tests you can use. I guess that is
what the online help is for.
Note: I had to add the QUERY/400 or else you would get all sorts of
unrelated help, like how to select records in logical file DDS. This is
because it will search the entire Information Center and not just the
Query/400 document. You can limit you search with checkboxes to certain
areas (by using advanced search), but, DDS and a lot of other unrelated
items are in the same section as Query/400. Even with the Query/400 I got
64 hits.

I prefer the html versions of manuals much better. The information is a
lot clearer, better laid out, easier to search and much more informative.

So I continued my journey. I went to the V4R4 manuals as previously
suggested and ended up at
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/v4r4eng.htm
Selected Category bookshelves for V4R4 and went to
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/ct44eng.htm
Selected integrated database and file systems and went to
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/8eng44.htm
Found the Query/400 and discovered much to my joy that I had my selection
of html or PDF.
Selected HTML and got
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/qb3agg00/CCONTENTS
At the top you'll see:
Title: Query/400 Use V4R1
If you are used to the paper manuals, this most resembles that. Of course
you have great search capabilities and stuff added.

This help?

Not only that, but on some of the CD's you have no search capability.
While the web version does.

Which manual are you trying to get to? Want me to see if it's IBM or you?

I can never seem to get through to the online manuals these days,
connection
always times out.

What are IBM doing with these manuals these days ?

Used to be easy, search the softcopy CD.

Not these days;

Search the Softcopy CD
Search the Info centre CD,
then search the supplemental manuals CD !

And no way to search all manuals.

Thanks for all your replies.
