Seriously, in either case, it depends on your security setup.  Properly 
secured, the AS/400 is VERY difficult to hack - by setting up user IDs and 
profiles properly and using object-level security, you can lock out all but 
authorized users.

Security issues quickly get more complex (and object-level security becomes 
that much more important) when you add Internet access.  Whenever possible, I 
try to counsel my clients to keep their AS/400 off of a LAN connected to the 
Internet, or at the very least to use an internal addressing scheme (although 
this has just bitten me pretty badly).

However, there are many ways to keep the AS/400 very secure, from firewalls to 
exit points.  So, is there a single "API" to hack an AS/400?  Nope.  Otherwise, 
you'd be reading about it in alt.2600.
