I was at a shop that was a big user of EMC drives, which was fine - as
long as EMC really supported the midrange environment.

Then out of the blue EMC basically hung us out to dry, leaving us with a
support option that we were not happy with (fortunately, we were able to
find a third party service vendor that worked out fine).

The moral being that the manufacturer of the processor is probably going
to be the most interested in supporting their hardware, so if it's an IBM
processor, IBM drives would make the most sense.

For a while, the IBM drives were well behind the technology curve, but
those days are gone.
