        What does the "netstat -r" route map show on the router box. Also,
what OS/400 level and what Cum are you on.  There have been many past issues
with using the 10.1.0.0 network on the 400, most of which have been resolve.
You might try using a 172.16.0.0 network and see if this solves the problem.
