M$ has a credo: "eat your own dogfood", meaning that they should use
their own products as much as possible. Doing that makes it hard to
blame third party vendors (they do anyway). That they screwed up
designing their network is, of course, pitiful, but does not mean that 
their customers have to screw up as well.
