I tried the exact senerio a couple of years ago.  Two systems a 170 and a
620 both running v4r3.

I found it quicker to ftp the files to my pc from the 170 and then to the
640 from my pc than from going from 400 to 400.

the setup was the same as yours; only the 400 on the hub.  Needless to say
I was very disappointed.

I gonna try to take it out of the network, Monday night, and see what
happens.
Only the two AS/400s linked together by a 10/100M hub. That should be the
shortest distance I can get! AS/400 to AS/400, no other computer in
between!

What do you think?
