All set,  I'm not sure what happened.  The FTP servers were showing running on both systems,  and like I said from my CL programs that run,  files were being transferred,  but from a command line I could not do it.  So basically I stopped the servers and restarted them and everything is fine.

What is the difference between this and stopping/restarting the servers?
My point is that the system is behaving in a way that is not understood
and the remedy is also not understood. It is all voodoo.
