Actually it's not true. See the following article "Hacking continues to
plague Microsoft". Can't hack an AS/400.

But isn't that true?  The unreachability was a result of a completely
separate system (MS' DNS records) failing.

Turn the situation around.  If you ran a web site on an AS/400 (erm,
iSeries) and your ISP ran into problems of some sort, rendering the
machine unreachable, would that count against the 400's up/downtime?

I'm all for complaining about MS' OSes when they deserve it, but this
appears to have been the fault of someone typing in incorrect DNS
information and could have happened to any company, regardless of what
OS/platform they use.
