Scott & Jim,

  My experience with a *LAN IP printer device configuration is that
sometimes you get port contention when a large LAN document is sent to print
at the same time AS/400 spool files are printing.  The result is the AS/400
writer job ends.  Perhaps this was fixed in V4R4. V4R3 and below we had
nothing but problems with that environment. We found that using our existing
NT Print spooler environment as the "traffic cop" worked best.  

My two cents FWIW.....
