RUNSQLSTM (Interactive SQL) and Query Manager are still part of 5769-ST1
(DB2 Query Mgr and SQL DevKit for AS/400) as of V4R5. There are a couple of
freeware SQL processors listed on AS/400 Network. I have not used either
one, so I can't make a recommendation. Go to http://www.as400network.com/
and select Tech Resources --> Code --> AS/400 Freeware and Shareware -->
View by Category --> Database and Query Management.

Subject: RUNSQLSTM - included with v4? not v3?

I have a procedure that uses RUNSQLSTM on my v4r4 box. In trying to run it
on a v3r2 box, I learned that his box doesn't have the RUNSQLSTM command.
It appears that on v3 it was part of SQL/400 licensed product. I'm not sure
on the v4 box if the same is true.

I have a vague recollection that SQL is bundled with v4 but I'm not sure.

Making things more confusing is my other vague recollection that you can run
SQL type activities on this v3r2 box using something like a Rumba or other
ODBC product, but can't run it from a command line. Hmmmmm.

Can anyone fill me in on whether RUNSQLSTM is bundled and if so, as of what
release?

Is there any alternative way to do a RUNSQLSTM type process on a box without
RUNSQLSTM?

Thanks.
