I have a Java 'stored procedures tester' which exercises any stored
procedure, prompting for input parameters, displaying all outputs & also
any result set (currently only one result set, but would be relatively easy
to modify to handle as many as are returned) - let me know offline if you
(or anyone) would like a copy. It uses either the DB2 or the Toolbox JDBC
driver depending what parameter you specify, so will run on PC or AS/400 as
required.
You can't pick up returned stored procedure result sets in RPG, only in C
or Java, unfortunately, because RPG doesn't support the SQL Call Level
Interface.

Subject: RPG use of Stored Procedure result set

Hi,
we have been doing some testing with ADO/OLE/DB and Stored Procedures on
the AS/400.
Since we run into some problems, I want to test these same stored
procedures from within the AS/400 itself, instead of from VB or Delphi.

Reading old editions from News/400, Paul Conte's articles on Stored
procedures (back in end of 1997 !!!) I found an article that had an
example of how to use a Stored Procedure from an "client" RPG program,
but the example shown did NOT include the use of returning a "result
set" from the stored procedure back to the client program, normally VB
or Delphi.
The question is, if my Stored Procedure returns a result set, and I want
to read it from an RPG client program, how am I supposed to
define/use/read it in RPG ?
Any one had any experience with this?
