Just to add my .02 cents; we also have several host 400/remote sites and
use the Netopia routers that include a simple firewall and NAT. At each
end the NAT hides the internal network and it's well worth the $700 US
we paid to our ISP at each end.

The only problem we've had is with software that is not NAT friendly.
Like CuSeeMe for video conferencing and Surveyor by Linoma Software for
file management.
