Subject: Upload Excel spreadsheet to AS/400

Hi all,

one of our A/Ps has the following requirement:

I have an excel spreadsheet that has numeric data in most columns and also
some columns with alpha data.
The requirement is that I need to upload this to the As400 for use in a
program that converts this data into an existing file on the As400.

As we know, we get decimal data crashes if there is a space in a numeric
field.

How would you upload to the as400 from an excel spreadsheet with numeric
data in it--considering that IBM does not like spaces in numeric fields.

I have tried saving the excel spreadsheet as various formats and then
uploading the file:
Csv I can read but it would be tricky in the program.
Prn I can read but it puts a lot of spaces(eg 5 to 8) between the
fields.
Txt gives me 'junky' characters in the file.
Xls gives me 'junk' that I could not read in a program.
Dif gives me 'junk' that I could not read in a program.

Thanks in advance.
