  • Subject: Pay attention when moving Data-Queues

Hello all,
we made a move from one RISC-System to another.
When restoring the complete system from a go save option 21 set of
tapes, we started testing on the new system.
The next day we took over only libraries that contained changed data
from the (old) production system.
What we did not think of was Data Queues !
Is is difficult to restore the content o a *DTAQ object, its not
impossible, but difficult ...
So pay some attention to applications using data queues, either
process the entries until the queue is empty or (like the programmer
in my case did) there is a physical file as a copy of the entries
in that queue for restoring the content in case something went wrong
during processing.

Regards from germany, Philipp Rusch
