I want to help Alex Woodie locate where in the archives we have had past
discussion of this topic of Microsoft allegedly once having 23 AS/400, trying
to convert to some ungodly number of NT like around 1200, abandoning the
project & now using an ASP that uses AS/400ds. My memory is that it is a
recurring topic & often it is in one of those threads that starts with some
unrelated title.

I am not sure how long I have been on MIDRANGE-L ... I joined some time in
year 2000 ... I have been on BPCS_L now for like 2 years. There was a time
that the archives were lost due to David not having the resources for them &
this has been resolved.

http://archive.midrange.com/ vintage 2000-August got redone

My first search is for Microsoft & 400 in the same e-mail & I expect to get
some hits on this story & some on people with some technical challenge
related to the primary discussion topics of these forums.

1822 matches for "Microsoft & 400" & I see a bunch of Microsoft in the news
due to Justice Dept, favorite target of humor, security problems.

63 matches for "Microsoft & 400 & conversion" but it is all 400 customers
with conversion challenges such as OV/400 & MS equivalents, and people who
have one foot in each of the worlds. The most promising for future search
criteria that might interest Alex are "My Customer" "AS/400 and NT"
"Favorable Comparisons" but I have not found any of it yet.

1362 matches for "Microsoft & AS/400 & NT"
45 matches for "Microsoft & AS/400 & NT & ASP" but it looks like more of the
same

My problem here is that I did not look at the detail of the posts unless the
subject title was promising & as we know, there is often not that correlation.

I hope that my effort has been helpful for Alex locating prior discussions of
this, at least what not to try.
